Charles King is a barrister in independent practice with over 25 years experience in dealing with a large range of legal matters. Having trained with a major international City firm of solicitors and worked with several large and small barristers’ chambers and other legal practices in London and the regions, Charles has also dedicated much time to community-based legal services including pro bono (free) casework and work with several charities and local groups in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area. Among Charles’ many former clients are all four high street banks, councils and housing associations, individual landlords & tenants and the charity Shelter.

Examples of recent cases include successfully assisting commercial tenants facing eviction by their landlord, drafting the renewal of commercial leases in the London area, assisting large scale site owners and businesses with occupation agreements, and high profile planning and enforcement cases in the High Court.

We can accept instructions from solicitors acting on your behalf but we are also authorised by the Bar Standards Board (‘BSB’) to act for clients who do not want to use a solicitor, via the Bar ‘Direct Public Access’ scheme.

We are pleased to say that most of our clients return to us for help if ever they experience future problems, but it is our aim to try to ensure from the outset when dealing with your case that the possibility of future problems is minimised.

Please note we cannot undertake legal work under Conditional Fee (‘no win no fee’) Agreements.
